Previous: Chief Craig Leshner Jr., Lt. David Counard and Burlington City Firefighters Matthew Voza & Nathan Pogorzelski  received the Medal of Valor Award during the N.J. State Fire Chiefs meeting on September 11, 2025. The firefighters received this prestigious award for rescuing a child during a house fire on March 31, 2024. Congratulations!!
Next: During the October 22, 2025 Board of Fire Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Scully sworn in three new members to the Burlington Township Fire Department.  Congratulations to Christopher Dillon as career firefighter, Robert Wieland III as career firefighter, and Kayla Good as new member.

  • Join us in congratulating our New Fire Official! On Wednesday, March 25th, the Burlington Township Fire Department officially swore in Ashley L Johnson to lead our Fire Prevention, Investigation, and Safety efforts as the New Fire Official. 
  • The Commissioner Workshop Meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2026 is cancelled. The next commissioner meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 7:00pm.
  • Remembering Lt. Edward Marbet LODD February 9th, 2006, 20th Year Memorial Service February 15th, 2026, at 1100hrs at Independence Fire Co. #1 – Station 301
  • At the January 28, 2026, Board of Fire Commissioners meeting, Chief Leshner and Battalion Chief Tomaszewski presented Firefighters Keith Scully Jr. and Logan Hreso with plaques in recognition of the successful completion of their probationary period. Congratulations to both, and best wishes for continued success in your fire service careers.
  • In support of our Burlington County Fire Academy Class 106 graduates, several members of the department attend last evenings graduation.
